AS2: Task Five – Produce a music video
Produce a music video
Introduction
This post will display the process I went through in order to create my final music video but also the pros and cons of how we filmed our music video; what could have been improved as well.
To get the clips from the camera onto the computer, I opened the camera's file and copied the clips into a new folder.
This was where I created a new folder and named it 'Test Music video'. I created a new folder so that it would be easier for me to find the clips when it came to editing the music video on Premiere Pro.
To insert my clips onto the time line I clicked file, import, then I went onto the document where I saved all the clips I needed to begin editing the music video.

Health and Safety Issues to note:
· General public – need to make sure no one trips over the equipments
· Crew needs to stay together so no one gets lost
· Make sure there are no sharp objects on the field that could cause injury for the person cat walking
|
Potential Filming Problems:
· Lack of electricity supply – will need to use fully charged batteries at all times
· We cannot use artificial lights in one of our locations so we have to shoot on a day that is very sunny.
· We need to be sure the drama students do not need to use the studio while filming because this might slow down our filming process.
· Make sure we film before bell goes to avoid noise from students walking past.
|
Additional Notes: (map of area/weather forecast etc.)
Need to make sure everyone is alright with missing out on lunch or break in order to get the filming done as fast as possible.

AS2: Task Three – Analyse the track
Lyrics of 'Stooshe - See Me Like This'
Pace of the song: Slow with a repetitive beat. Length of the song: 3:30. The song would need to be quite slow as they are singing about heartbreak and love, so the slow beat links very well to give the impression that they must be upset and heartbroken.

AS2: Task Two – Analyse the artist
Analyse the artist
Stooshe are an English girl group who produce music in genres such as R&B, Soul, Hip hop and pop. Their style is very unique compared to other girl groups in the industry and before their time too. A majority of their music videos are very funky, retro mixed with the 60s theme which is what differs them from so many girl bands today. In addition to that, the way how they dress also reflects and represents their style and type of music they want to create. Stooshe always wear really bright colours which are attractive because they want people to notice them more. They also want the public the know them for their individual personalities (which is very contrasting) making the public want to know more about them.
This picture also displays the kind of girl band they are intending to be. Stooshe saying 'We're not your typical girl band' is a temptation for the public as again, they would want to follow how they are and the next big thing they can bring to the table. Another thing is that they want to come across as fun young women but also ones that are fierce and can take any challenge.

AS2: Task One – Choosing the track/gaining permission
The Track - "Stooshe See Me Like This"
The importance of gaining permission from the artist:
It is vital to ask for the artist's permission to use their song because we can then be drifted from any issues involving the law and the artists rights. In order to prevent breaking the copyright laws, there must be an agreement with the company before the software is installed. This will leave us in good hands, making our work get finished easier and quicker. We must understand the consequences if we have failed to contact the artists and ask what it is we want to do with their track, meaning they will have the right to sue us. Situations like these are why gaining permission from the girl band "Stooshe" is important for both us and the artists. We do not want to be held in the position of breaking the copyright laws as it would not be our direct attention to do so with the track, however the artists may think that our intentions are to do so.
Permission from the artist:
Here is an email which includes our request to use the artists track. This was done so that we were not breaking any copyright laws on behalf of the artists.
Why I have chosen this particular track:
What attracted me most into using this track is its unique video style and the girl band itself. I love the way how Stooshe are loud and vibrant in terms of their style and individual personalities and are unlike many british girl bands today which is what is so inspiring about them. When I saw the video of "See Me Like This", I loved every thing about it because they had funky texts throughout video which didn't make it seem boring to watch, they had a colour scheme which was just pink and black, lastly it was all focused on them and what they can bring to the viewers. This track has a lot of sassiness and a diva approach to it so it does match my personality in different ways which is why I believe I relate to this particular track most.
- Down load it a copy of the track and post the audio file on your blog. You may need to import it into Final Cut Express and then export it as a quicktime file.
